Bank Shot:: A space network would allow scientists anywhere on Earth to interact with, say, a Venusian probe. Since space communications requires a line of sight between two points, if the sun is between Earth and Venus, the network could route data through another satellite, such as one near Mars—like banking a shot on a billiard table.
