Curve Confusion: Analog sensors output a voltage proportional to the physical phenomenon being measured. Here, the black line shows how voltage might vary with temperature. If incorrect calibration information—the red line—is used, the measured voltage will be scaled erroneously, even though the sensor is working properly.
